“2,462 MILES. ONE DAY. ONE POOL.”
Join Angeleno swimmers of all stripes at the Culver City Plunge, for this record-setting event, sponsored by LA Tri Club and SCAQ (SoCal Aquatics) on May 22nd!
In addition to attempting to set the record for most miles swum in one pool in a day, they will be swimming the distance from Los Angeles to New York in an effort to raise awareness about water safety. Did you know that drowning is the leading cause of death for children under 14 in California? That’s an epidemic! All proceeds will be used to fund free swim instruction courses for the children of LA county.
Swimmers of all ages and abilities are welcome. There will be 18 lanes and 30 minute lap sessions going almost non-stop, and a display map charting the distance. There will also be food trucks! To sign up, just register on the website. You can choose how many stages you’d like to swim. Contributions start at $25 for one stage. Easy breezy! So dive on in: help set a record and save a life!!
